福島県会津美里町で約400年の歴史を持つ伝統的な陶磁器です。江戸時代初期の慶長年間に始まり、藩政時代には会津藩の保護を受けて発展しました。瓦焼の流れをくむ土物（陶器）と、大久保陶石を原料とした石物（磁器）があります。石を原料とした焼き物の産地としては、関東以北唯一です。
Aizu Misato Town in Fukushima Prefecture is a traditional ceramic ware with a history of about 400 years. It began in the Keicho era in the early Edo period, and developed under the protection of the Aizu Domain during the feudal era. There are earthenware (pottery) that follows the tradition of tile ware, and stoneware (porcelain) made from Okubo pottery stone. It is the only production area north of the Kanto region for pottery made from stone.
